Wow the table took longer than expected! This is the last WIP I post. The next will be the finished drawing with the background. I'm looking forward to finishing it! Maybe tomorrow?

General description of the drawing:

I just started a new project. I'm a huge fan of the TV show "how i met your mother" and I love all the characters so the logic step for me was to draw them.

I thought that I hadn't done a "Work in Progress" series in a long time so here we go.

First I had to find a nice reference picture. I wanted to do a drawing of the five of them sitting in their booth at McLaren's. I Found a nice picture online in a pretty good quality ([link]) but I didn't like that you couldn't see Barney and Lilly well in it so I searched for pictures of them individually that I could work into the picture, Barney: [link] and Lilly: [link]
Then I printed them out in the correct size so they would match and so that it's easier to get the proportions right.

As always I started with a sketch of the whole thing. I always have to make sure to get the proportions right because I don't wanna end up having Robin and Barney perfectly right and nicely drawn and then I mess up Lilly and everything is ruined. So when I first do a sketch of all of them I can be pretty sure the drawing will turn out ok in the end. Then I start drawing from left to right, and again I usually draw the heads first and then I fill in the rest; reason: see above.
I will try to upload a WIP whenever I'm done with one person so you can see how the drawing slowly builds. Once I'm done with it, I'll put the WIPs in the scrap folder.
